Am using Header & Navigation Style 6
Don't know if this affects others as have not tried.

I need to use a bigger logo than the default one, but none of the spacing or sizing settings are having any effect on the logo, which is causing the containing section to be too big.

so if I set the height, width, max-height and max-width, it does nothing.
if I set all the spacing to 0, it has no effect, and the original spacing is still intact.
I have checked in the chrome dev tools, and can see the original spacing is still there.
it is as though these values are hard coded and not using the divi builder settings.

And no, it is not a caching issue. There is no caching plugin, and my browser cache has been cleared.

The only way I can get it to work is to resize the logo down to 58px exactly. same as the default.

ok I seem to have found the cause of the problem.
It seems that changes that I make to the header layouts are having no effect unless I go into the theme coztomizer, make a change and then publish it.
then and only then are my changes to the DU header layouts applied ???

It's the Static CSS File Cache: WP Admin > Divi > Theme Options > Builder > Advanced > Static CSS File Generation

Try to clear it & see if it works. You may also disable it first & make the changes for the custom header layout.
