I inherited a site with a load of weird issues. It turns out they're still using Divi Ultimate 4.0 Child Theme.

I purchased a lifetime version of the theme and asked for help making the jump up four upgrade versions, and the advice didn't work. I realized they told me to use the Divi Ultimate plug-in, not the child theme. Can someone give me advice on jumping from 4.0 to 8.0 in the Divi Ultimate theme?

It's because for our child theme, it's a blank child theme for you to make customization on. And all our custom codes are moved to Divi Ultimate Plugin for the ease for you to update.

Once you installed the Divi Ultimate Plugin v8.0.2, any specific issue you're having?

It's very strange stuff; all seems to be related to caching. The forms won't show or the logo runs huge across the main screen after i change something. It appears to be a sticky cache issue but it's entirely unpredictable and extremely frustrating. I have a lot of other clients using Divi (but not Divi Ultimate) who aren't having these issues. I'm hosting on SiteGround and I keep disabling cache settings... things were good for about a month this time before the problems reappeared. It's driving me nuts.

It does sound like a cache issue. Will need to view the site with issue to advice further.

Whenever you face this issue, you may consider to disable / clear Divi static CSS file cache & see if it helps: WP Admin > Divi > Theme Options > Builder > Advanced > Static CSS File Generation

I do clear it manually whenever the weird behaviors start. I'll turn it off entirely now. I've got my fingers crossed - thank you!
