    Hi Divi Community!

is there a way to display child categories as a dropdown menu list under their parent in the category filter that is used in the filterable portfolio module?

Like: Drinks (parent) and coffee, tea, water (child)

The build in solution just displays child categories the same way as their parents as an individual button in the category filter menu bar. This is misleading and makes child categories useless in my case.

I could not find a solution for this. Anybody any idea?
    Would be great.

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards ,
    Peter

Hello, unfortunately I can't find it either, I was looking everywhere on the Internet where I could but I asked a few people and they said that unfortunately it is not possible, which is a pity because I also wanted to do it myself

    Hello,

yeah, it is a pitty, since this seems to me an essential setup for structuring the category filters.
I know, that there is a solution, since I used to use a plugin called Divi filterable blog module (https://dfbm.indikator-design.com/). This plugin allows you to build category filters with dropdown menues for the subcategories. It makes all the things I needed, but unfortunately it also causes a lot of other trouble. (many known issues, incompatible with the latest DIVi builder, and I had no good experience with the support). So I decided to get rid of this plugin. The DIVi build inn solution with the filterable portfolio module is doing a good job, except from this (to me essential) thing. So now I have the choice between a troubling plugin or a useless menue structure ...
I still hope somoene here knows how to fix that.

    Anyone?

Hello, I have the same problem ,This is the response from elegant theme////
This is Eduardo. Thank you for contacting the Technical Support Team.

I'm afraid there is no option for that one and there is still no alternative. The Filterable Portfolio module will always display each category in the filter list (without dropdown) regardless if it is a parent or child category.

You can try checking out third-party plugins if you want an alternative:
