Solved Favicon Setting Missing

    Hello - I have the Divi theme installation on my hard drive. When I uploaded to my first few sites, the Favicon setting existed and worked.

    WIthin the last month, all new sites I have uploaded the them to do not have the Favicon setting. Updating the theme does not solve the issue.

    Any ideas?

    Yes. Divi removed the favicon from the Theme Options.

    To add favicon for new Divi version, you need to go to Theme Customizer -> General Settings -> Site Identity -> Site Icon.

    This is great, but I had a working .ico file, which I want to update - but the new/old method (thru Appearance/Customize/General/SiteID does not like the 512x512 ICO which worked previously. Some comment say png/jpg only in that screen.

    Is anybody able to use an ICO via that route ??

    A second issue is that (some of?) the pages seem to still use the now hidden Divi favicon info - so both the one under customizer and the divi one are both requested. So there is now no way to change or remove the value that Divi stored and still uses if it is present.

    I have a site built by someone else using Divi and it has subsequently been updated by me. I have uploaded my new favicon (and it works) but somewhere the old favicon info is stored and when I updated the site to https I can't get my green padlock in Firefox because the old favicon info is showing as http and therefore a mixed environment. How do I get rid of this? I deleted the actual file that was called from /wp-contents/uploads using FTP but the issue remains.

    Hi Nigel,

    We've had the best luck setting up the .ico file in the root directory of the site using a good old FTP. We're noticing some browsers having issues displaying it the new way it's setup.

    Hello!

    For those with this same issue - and happen to land on this same page. This was resolved by modifying the wp_options database which still had a reference to the old link. Just look for the divi_favicon entry.
    Ensure you backup your database before making modifications!
