Hey... I am using a Divi Full Width Menu Module and I used height: 50px; the reduce the height of the container. However, I have been trying to centre the menu links with no luck.

I have used all the obvious... margin-top, padding-top, align-top... EVERYTHING with no luck!

I assigned the section the ID main_menu_container.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello Joseph,

Because you added height: 50px; to the menu container, menu links are not centered vertically.

What you want is this height like it is now, and these menu links are in the center?

Yes... That is exactly correct except I prefer that the container height be set to 40px with the menu links centered both horizontally and vertically.

I have been programming using html, css, js ect for years but now I am trying to make responsive websites and I don't have the patience to learn Flexbox or CSS Grid so.... I'm trying to learn Divi but initially, it has been frustrating.

Last night I figured out that my menu container has a class name of .et_pb_section_1 and my menu has a class name of .et_pb_fullwidth_menu_0 so I can add CSS to these classes in the Theme Customizer.

I am trying to re-create a responsive version of this website which I hand coded from scratch... www.vickymulholland.com. Would it be better to use CSS or the Divi Builder to create this menu and any hints on how to get started doing this would be most helpful. I'm sure you know as a developer that there are times when you've tried everything and your head starts to break and that is where I am now.

Any suggestions would be MOST appreciated!

    Hello Joseph,

If you started with Divi then you should utilize the Divi builder and build pretty much everything with it. But here is the CSS code to achieve the header you want anyway.

    Code:
