I need to edit (correct a typo) in a text that is located in the (global) header of a website that was not built my myself. I was hoping that someone here can point me to the place in the backend of the site (either in a menu or in the html) where I can find this header element and where I can edit it.

The default Divi doesn't have this functionality. I would suspect that it's either added through child theme or plugins.

Most likely it's from your child theme. Try to switch back to parent Divi theme & see if the text is still there or not. If the text disappeared, then it's added through your child theme. And you will need to edit the text at your child theme files: WP Admin > Appearance > Theme File Editor > header.php

Unfortunately I cannot find the text there in that header.php code that you referred to. I notice that there are 2 child themes active in the site: Mesmerize Pro and Twenty Twenty-Two. Are there any specific .php files in those themes that are worth checking to find the location of this text?

Those are not Divi child theme. Try to enable Safe Mode & see if the text is still there or not: WP Admin > Divi > Support Center > Safe Mode > Enabled.

If it still appear after enabling Safe Mode, then most likely it's added through parent Divi theme header.php.
