    The Divi menu and slider not working on a website we have recently taken over.

    The menu and slider work when you are within the visual builder.

    Deleting the cache and disabling all plug-ins by enabling Safe Mode does not resolve the problem.

    There is a custom child theme and custom CSS setup.

    Some suggestions on next steps to investigate would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks, and kind regards,
    Anthony

    First thing is to check your browser console & see if there's any error shows: Right click > Inspect > Console tab

    See the error is coming from which custom code / plugin / child theme. Then try to disable it & see if it works.

    You may try to edit your page in Divi Builder & add a image module & enable lightbox option & go to the Advanced > Custom CSS > Main Element & add display: none!important;

    Hello! ANTHONY NELSON, these steps may help you to solve the issue about Divi menu and slider not working;

    Backup Your Website
    : Before making any changes, it's crucial to create a backup of your website, including files and the database. This ensures that you can revert to a previous state if anything goes wrong during the troubleshooting process.

    Check Browser Console for Errors: When the menu and slider fail to work, open the browser developer console (usually accessed by pressing F12 or right-clicking and selecting "Inspect") and check for any JavaScript errors or warnings. These errors can provide valuable insights into what might be causing the issue.

    Review Custom CSS: Since there's custom CSS involved, review the CSS code carefully to ensure there are no conflicting styles affecting the functionality of the menu and slider. Pay attention to any CSS rules targeting the menu and slider elements and consider temporarily commenting out or removing them to see if it resolves the issue.

    Inspect Child Theme Files: Review the files in your custom child theme, especially any template files related to the menu and slider components. Check for any customizations or modifications that might be interfering with the proper functioning of these elements.

    Disable Customizations Temporarily: Temporarily disable the custom child theme and revert to the parent theme (in this case, Divi). This can help determine if the issue is caused by the customizations in the child theme. If the menu and slider work fine with the parent theme, then the problem likely lies within the custom child theme.

    Test with Default Settings: In the Divi theme settings, reset all customizations to default settings and test the menu and slider functionality again. This can help identify if any specific theme settings are causing the issue.

    Plugin Compatibility Check: Even though disabling plugins didn't resolve the issue initially, it's worth revisiting this step which I performed on a website: Re-enable plugins one by one while testing the menu and slider functionality after each activation. This can help pinpoint if any specific plugin is conflicting with the Divi components.

    Update Divi and WordPress: Ensure that both the Divi theme and WordPress core are up to date. Outdated software can sometimes cause compatibility issues with plugins and customizations.

    Reach Out to Divi Support: If the issue persists after following the above steps, reach out to Elegant Themes' support for assistance. Provide them with detailed information about the problem, including any error messages, steps taken, and the troubleshooting results.
