Solved Sections layer over each other in divi editor

I've been having the problem for a while where the individual sections of the page (header, main and footer) are collapsing on top of each other in the editor. The footer stays in the same position in the viewport however is behind all other page content and scrolls down with the page. It's fine on the front end but is making editing difficult especially on pages where there isn't a lot of content and the footer takes up the entire container. In the image, this is showing the mobile enabled section and footer have merged. As far as I am aware this has started happening randomly, so any help would be great as I have been trying to fix this with no success.
