I tried updating from 1.02. I deactivated 1.02, and then deleted the files.

I then uploaded 1.1.0 through the plugin uploader and activated it. As soon as I activate, I get a theme error and got the email from WordPress telling me to go into recovery mode. If I disable the Divi Ultimate Blog 1.1.0 plugin I can exit recovery mode and everything works fine.

I've since uninstalled 1.1.0 and reinstalled 1.02 and re-activated it and it works fine, so I'm not sure what might be happening.

    The site is www.lynk.wtf.

Love the plugin otherwise, thinking about getting Ultimate Footer, Header, and Archive too! :)

That's weird. Tested on our demo site & it works fine. None reported such issue before as well.

Did it mention any specific error?

Sorry for the delay. No specific error. It looks like it's a new feature with WordPress where if a plugin or a theme have a critical error it lets you log in to the back end through a specific link.

    Yes, it's a new feature in WP 5.2: https://make.wordpress.org/core/2019/04/16/fatal-error-recovery-mode-in-5-2/

But it did state the below:
Kindly double check if there's any error stated.

Also can you try to create a dummy website + Divi & install our blog plugin & see if it works?

    Hello,

why can not the tool be updated via the admin backend?

When does the update option come via the admin backend?

I have a lot of sites to manage and do not always want to search for plugin updates.

    Thanks and Regards

Currently, we are using forum to manage all our products, so it's not possible for us to provide admin backend update option. Though by using forum, we get to provide great support & you can easily search for past support tickets by other members for any questions that you have.

We might look into other alternatives in future, but can't guarantee whether it will be implemented or not.

    Additional info:
For our plugin updates, mostly are just adding new features. So, if your site is still running the older version smoothly, then you can choose not to update it, unless you wish to access the newly added features.
