Divi-WP-Local Lightning Layout Oddness!

Total Divi Newbie here, as you might tell from the title - not sure how to describe this.

I have a WP install running on Local Lightning with the Divi theme active and a Divi layout.

I have customised the layout with text and images, changed little in terms of structure etc, just to make it easy. When I edit the layout (page) with the Divi Builder activated all is good, just as I customised it. However when I start the site, and the builder is not activated, all of the original images from the layout are shown instead of my own?

    Q. Is this expected behaviour, is it that I have not actually changed the layout file but only a Divi saved version of the layout?

    Q. If I upload the site to my WP Host, I'm guessing (newbie remember) that I won't be specifically activating the builder, so will my own images actually display or the layout original ones? Is there something I am missing in customising the layout to make changes permanent?

    Feedback graciously requested and appreciated.

    Ian

Divi layout is saved on ElegantThemes cloud. And what you did is just: Create a new page > Import the layout > And make your changes there.

So as long as you save the page after making the changes, then it should retain your changes.

If it doesn't work as expected, then you might want to refer official Divi support about it: https://www.elegantthemes.com/members-area/help/

Thanks for that feedback. Unfortunately, it looks like its more complex than that. The Help suggests:

Disabling Custom CSS and this does fix the issue, but Immediately after reenabling it, the problem reappears. I have zero custom CSS in the site!

Awaiting further feedback from Divi Support!
