I'm seeing Divi Ultimate Theme (applying styles) even though I don't have it activated as the theme.

I'm seeing Divi Ultimate Theme (applying styles) even though I don't have it activated as the theme.

For example, if you look at: http://njcu.info/eco/sustainability-dashboard/ (which is just using the default Wordpress Editor) you'll see the right sidebar has the styling pulling in from Divi Ultimate theme.

The site is behaving very oddly. (SEE THE ATTACHED SCREENSHOT).

I don't know why this is showing up. I'm just using the default DIVI theme. I've installed the DIVI Ultimate Theme, but it's not activated. I did activate it once, and then deactivated it. But it still seems to be working as though it is active. I'm not sure what's going on or how to undo this. Can you think of anything?

All I can think of is that I imported your DIvi Ultimate Customizer.json file. And it seems to have overtaken my site and I thought if I deactivated the theme, the entire theme would not be active. I'm not sure what to do.

Even after I deleted the Divi Ultimate Theme, I'm still seeing "Configure header settings in the Theme Customizer". I don't know how to get rid of this. It's driving me a bit nuts.

Also on http://njcu.info/eco/sustainability-dashboard/, the header is now showing up (by default) unless I change it, which I just did. But why would "your header" show up since the theme isn't even installed any longer?

Can you help me figure out what's going on and fix it?

QUESTION: Is there any way I can REMOVE and uninstall the Divi-Ultimate-Customizer.json that I installed. I'm just guessing, but I think this is causing the problems. How might I undo this from my site?

    Thanks,
    Gary

PS: I apologize for my frantic babbling. I've just never encountered this before.

Based on your screenshot, this notice "Configure header settings in the Theme Customizer" is not coming from our child theme.

But let me explain for you how our child theme work.

Currently, we have child theme + assistant plugin (Divi Ultimate Plugin). Assistant plugin is meant to ease your updating process. For each major update of our child theme, most likely it's just updating the assistant plugin, so that your custom changes in the child theme will not be overridden.

So, when you're saying that Divi Ultimate Child Theme is not activated in your Wordpress site, but our child theme styling CSS is still there, it means that our assistant plugin is still activated on your site. Try to disable the Divi Ultimate Plugin & you will see that the sidebar will return to the original styling.

After disable our assistant plugin, see if the notice is still there. If still there, meaning it's coming from other third party plugins or maybe Divi itself.

**By the way, the .json file will not cause any issue to your site. It's just a list of Divi Library items. If you want to delete it, just go to the Divi Library to delete all of them.

Made a mistake in previous post. Just notice that the .json file you're referring to is the Customizer file. There's no way to undo after import. But if you did download the backup before import, you can re-import the backup .json file.

Though till now, I haven't heard any of the members complain about the customizer .json file causing issue.

When I deactivated the assistant plugin, that helped. :) I think I'm okay now. LOL

Question. When you said "Assistant plugin is meant to ease your updating process. For each major update of our child theme, most likely it's just updating the assistant plugin, so that your custom changes in the child theme will not be overridden." ... I just want to make sure I understand this correctly. The "Assistant Plugin" is primarily used to protect my changes from being overwritten when you release new updates to the Divi Ultimate theme? Is that correct?

If that is so, rather than using your "Assistant Plugin" could I instead just create a "child theme" from the Divi Ultimate theme, and use my child theme, so that when you update the original Divi Ultimate Theme, your changes (to Divi Ultimate) will be implemented but won't override the child theme I make. Typically I use the pro version of https://wordpress.org/plugins/child-theme-configurator/ (Child Theme Configurator). Will this be okay? Please let me know.

    Gary

PS: I believe I got all my other issues resolved. I'm sorry for seeming a bit frantic but since this was my first time using Divi Ultimate, I wasn't sure as to what was going on. So my apologies. :) Thank you as always for your help and support. You're really great!!

A bit confusing on what you're asking, but I'll try to answer it below.

For the latest Divi Ultimate v5.0, you can use your own child theme + Divi Ultimate Plugin (assistant plugin). Cause in the v5.0, our child theme is basically a blank child theme for you to make changes on. But in future, we might add some coding in it, which then you will need to use our child theme in order to fully access all the features of Divi Ultimate Child Theme.

Basically right now, it's totally fine for you use your own child theme. Though I'm not sure whether the additional stuffs offered by Child Theme Configurator will work well with our assistant plugin or not.

Let me know if I answered your questions correctly.
