Did you choose the option "Replace GUID?" I am having this issue and tried using this solution but it just did not work. Really appreciate any help on this! Thanks!

Hey There YGO, I am sorry to hear you are still experiencing this annoying issue. I don't remember checking the GUID option myself. You could perhaps make a backup first and try it, and revert back if it does not do anything.
But reading this forum I suspect there are multiple causes to this problem, so you might want to check out one of the other posts as well. My initial thought was that it is a caching problem, but removing cache only temporarily solved the issue. I still have no clue why the www solution worked for us, but it did.

So I hope you do find a solution and if you do, please be so kind as to post your solution here as well! ;-)

We should not be having this very basic issue with the divi builder. We have purchased there web builder with all it offers, but the builder is rigged with real annoying aesthetic flaws. Flaws which divi only provide basic default solutions to people with no coding knowledge.

I am the sole admin/editor of our website and it has been untouched and unedited for the past few months with no issues. Then I return to find my menu arrows have now become numbers which looks really unprofessional. I paid money to divi to help easier create a professional looking website so I feel like divi is not what it claimed to be in it's advertisements and from affiliate sponsors. I see a lot of sales advertising but I see very little customer service and problem solving. Furthermore, I have tried every piece of generic advice for this problem and all is useless.

I have disabled all my plugins one by one and so have discovered it is not a plugin issue.
I have also reset my entire cache on web side and server side so it is not a cache issue.

I also heard somebody say that your computer may not be fast enough to render the menus Icons. This is ridiculous because I have the fastest internet possible in Northern England, and I also run our website on wordpress performance for extra performance of course.

The fact my website was 100% fine and was 100% unedited before this menu icon glitch, it tells me that this issue is a problem with divi code itself, or maybe an update I'm not sure exactly. But what I do know in my circumstance is that it is no fault of mine.

Can we actually get a genuine solution to this problem or should we discontinue divi due to many unhandled aesthetic flaws???

As for your issue, if it happens after updating Divi, then you may want to try to disable this new Divi performance option: WP Admin > Divi > Theme Options > General > Performance > Dynamic Icons > Disabled

If it doesn't work, then you might want to go to your site & click F12 to open the browser developer tools & click the Console tab to check for any errors.

I was having this same issue - the number "3" in the primary menu and any buttons with arrows were also showing numbers. Here are all the things you can try:

    1. Check that the issue is happening in all browsers - this will help determine if it's a caching / css issue
    2. Go to Settings > General and make sure your website matches your real URL
    3. If any of your menu items are pointing to http and not https, replace those links with https
    4. Check to see if there are any errors using Inspect Element. Easiest to do on Chrome:
Right click on your site in the Chrome browser > Inspect > Console - if there are any errors, you'll see them at the top with little red X's - even if you don't know what it means, that will tell you that something is up - but it can provide clues. If it says something to do with a staging site, for example, it's likely a caching issue.
    5. If you are using a caching plugin, deactivate it, refresh the page and see if the numbers go away. If they do, you'll know immediately that it's a caching issue.
    6. Reactivate the plugin and see if the numbers come back. If they do (and if they don't), see if you can regenerate critical css in your caching plugin (I was using WP Rocket). Clear your website cache.
    7. This should resolve the issue. Check on different browsers and on mobile just in case. :)

    Hi, Paul,

Chances are it's not a theme issue at all. I just had the same exact issue (I also use Divi, and WordPress, with Kinsta as my host). It could be a caching plugin issue, http vs. https, or even some other error. I just posted the steps I did - dunno if that will help. :)

Thanks for this great tip! I had the same problem: strange letters appeared in the main navigation instead of icons (arrow, search, hamburger icon) on the homepage. First I checked the URL settings as described above, but it was set OK (https://). But it gave the idea to check source of images on the welcome page. First I went to Divi Settings, where the logo's source of URL was not correct! I updated it to https://... and the problem solved :)

Hope, it helps your sites, too!

I agree with you Paul. Divi is touting its software and I see a lot of people are having the same problem. I also have the same problem, and I have tried everything: nothing works. I no longer know what to do with my client's website.

One more thing you may try is to disable Dynamic Icons & see if it works: WP Admin > Divi > Theme Options > General > Performance > Dynamic Icons > Disabled

I fixed the menu with a 3 in it by deactivating the WP Rocket plug-in and then reactivating it. Anytime I have something odd, I deactivate WP Rocket first. I'm not a developer but I'm told their JS scripting causes funny things to happen so I start with this.

Deactivate and reactivate WP Rocket. It fixed my website in 30 seconds.

  13. This helped in my case. Thanks! (Social Icons were broken, slider arrows and video play button were numbers, but only on startpage)

I have done this to get rid of the annoying #3...
    To fix, go to:

    Divi/Integration/
    Enable header code (enable it)

In Header code, before the final </script> (if there is one) at the following code:

<!-- Preloading font to fix menu icon flashing 3 -->
    <link rel="preload" href="/wp-content/themes/Divi/core/admin/fonts/modules.ttf" as="font" type="font/ttf" crossorigin="anonymous">
<!-- Preloading font to fix menu icon flashing - end -->

Save and it should be fixed!

Hello, I have the same problem and I also have a slide show on my home page, I only have the problem on my home page...hence my conclusion:it is due to the slide show plug-in, which plug-in do you use? VM
