Solved How to make a global section (footer) overlap vertical nav? THANKS!

    Quick question... much appreciated!

I'm using the vertical nav on a boxed layout. For a footer, I am using a global section as well as the bottom footer and footer nav. I would like the footer to overlap the vertical nav. I'm guessing this is going to take some CSS magic. And I'm awful at that.

    Thanks so much!

TL;DR: How can I make a global section (used as a footer), the footer nav, and bottom footer overlap the vertical nav in a boxed layout?

Maybe set footer width as 100vw. This will make your footer width to be 100% screen width. You might need to set negative left margin to make the footer start from the left screen.

Thanks so much for your quick response! Also, love the site!

I have a very rudimentary understanding of CSS in regards to Divi. I'm in the boxed layout and I want the Global section to overlap the vertical menu. So I go to the main element CSS.

I think the "width: 100vw" is the right direction. But after that I have no idea. I tried using a left-margin - in pixels and percentages but couldn't get it to fit right.

I found these directions, however, I am not interested in the Header. Also, they seem pretty intense. Like I said, I'm no CSS wiz, but what do you think: https://www.askdivi.com/question/setup-vertical-navigation-fullwidth-header-footer

I guess I could give the global section a CSS class of #main-footer .... but doesn't that seem like a lot?

This si driving me insane! Thanks so much for your help!

Thanks! I'm gonna give it a whirl. I wound up going in a different direction when I didn't hear back.
