Solved Autocrop on portfolio

I have some issues with the cropping of my portfolio images since having a Divi theme. See my website: https://loesreijnders.com/
I also added a picture of a screenshot, and the (square) images that are the featured image in my portfolio, so you can see how it's being cropped.

The theme auto-crops the featured images of my portfolio to a square. However, even when I upload a 1:1 image as a featured image in my portfolio, the picture is still getting cropped further (some of the edges will be cut off). This also happens to rectangular images, on a portrait image the theme does not just crop a little from the bottom and/or top, but also from the sides. Currently I have a variety of sizes in my portfolio, and I do not mind re-uploading them all as 1:1 squares if this is necessary, since the only solution I can think of is to completely disable the auto-cropping. I hired someone to make the theme for me and am not very familiar with the Divi interface, could someone help me with some additional CSS or something to cancel the autocropping of my portfolio images?

Or if there are any suggestions that can still crop all pictures to a square, without cropping too much, please let me know.

I (the author) just want to add I have already done the following:
Deleted the code that crops the images to 1:1, now they are being cropped to the standard Divi size; Installed a blank child theme; added the
code that I found online to stop autocropping on Divi themes to the functions area in the theme file editor on the child theme.

The autocropping disabling bit still isn't working for my site, but at least the pictures are now just being cropped to the Divi standard size and there's no unnecessary cropping to this so I think that was the issue. However, I would still prefer square portfolio images, so still would appreciate help with getting rid of the autocropping.
