Remove Meta Description Date Variable

    Hi, does someone know how to remove the Date variable in the Meta Description of a Post? It's taking up valuable character space that i would like to utilize for metadata. Thanks!

    Hey Carlos,

    It might be set in the main Yoast settings, at:

    WP Admin > Yoast SEO > Settings > Posts > Search Appearance > Meta description

    Variables set there automatically appear in the meta description of posts, as per your screenshot.

    On my site, I'm able to delete the variable from within the post, however. So I'm not sure if there are some other settings involved.

    That variable wasn't showing in the Yoast settings but it looks like it's a default setting now to account for the occasions where a browser will show the date in the search results: https://yoast.com/help/date-appears-search-results/
