Help please, I accessed the backend to my site and updated plugins and wordpress etc and potentially divi. I then opened up the theme page and clicked on a theme to view and now I can't get access back to review my site it is completely blank. I have on the theme page broken themes and telling me "this theme has failed to load properly and was paused within the admin backend" . This theme is 'divi' plus i have a child theme I use my live site off called flourish this is also on the broken themes page. I am in recovery mode but cant access the live site as its blank.. help please as I am rather stressed at this point. I am not sure if the plugins are clashing or what?? This is my personal business site and is coming up on my mobile phone but not on the desk top. Do you need me to add my url?

    Hi jodie,

Sorry to hear you're having this issue.

First, if you have the ability to do so, it would be worth taking a backup before doing anything else.

Next, it sounds like something is probably causing a PHP error on the site. Getting the error message associated with the error from the debug log may be the quickest way to pinpoint the issue. You can enable the debug log as described here:

    https://help.dreamhost.com/hc/en-us/articles/360029327771-Enabling-the-WordPress-Debug-log

Once enabled, reload the (blank) site and it should log the error (if any) to the /wp-content/debug.log file. You may be able to see which plugin or theme is triggering the error, but if it's not clear to you, feel free to share the contents of the debug log here so that we can interpret it for you.

Given that the theme / child theme are showing as broken, you may also want to try disabling them (through the admin dashboard, if you can, or by renaming their folders under /wp-content/themes/ to, e.g. Divi-old). Then re-download Divi from Elegant Themes and install it on your site. That should fix any issues relating to the theme folder getting corrupted (e.g. a bad update). If it starts working after that, then you could try re-enabling your child theme and see if it works.

Good luck with it. Since you're site is currently displaying as blank, having the URL might not help us much, but if you can it would still be worth sharing - there might be some information to be gleaned from it.
