If I use Divi 5 to create a blog post template.
    Once the template is saved.
What is the process of creating a New Post?
Do I use the Divi Builder? or the Default Editor?
Will both use the blog post template? or only the Default Editor?

Both Divi Builder and default editor can be used. It depends on your need. If you need complex structure, then go for Divi Builder. If you just need simple text and images, then go for default editor.

Both will load within the Theme Builder blog post template Post Content module.

    Thank you for your reply,
    Am not disagreeing with you...
I just don't know the answer..
I guess the best way to find out is to give it a try
I was told that if I used the divi builder it would change some settings the way the template looks.
and to keep the template in order. they recommend that I write my post in a text editor and only copy and past the text and photos into the default editor...

To create a new post using a template in Divi 5, here is the process:

    Process:
    1. Create your post in the Default Editor (Gutenberg).
    2. Add your title and text content directly into the standard WordPress blocks.
    3. Set your Featured Image and Categories in the sidebar.
    4. Publish. The Theme Builder template will automatically "wrap" your content.
    Which editor to use?
    • Use the Default Editor: This is the best practice. The Theme Builder template handles the design, while the Default Editor handles the data.
    • Do I use the Divi Builder? Generally, no. If you enable the Divi Builder on an individual post, it will override the "Post Content" area of your template, often leading to layout conflicts or redundant design work.
    Will both use the template?
    • Yes, but with a catch. The template applies to the post regardless of the editor used. However, if you use the Divi Builder for the post body, you are designing that specific post manually, which defeats the purpose of having a global template.

You are very welcome, Don! Age is just a number—building an e-commerce site is a great project to take on.

Since you’re moving on to 'widgets,' the process is very similar to the blog:
    1. The Shop Template: Use the Divi Theme Builder to design your 'All Products' and 'Single Product' layouts.
    2. The Products: Add your widgets through the WooCommerce > Add New section (the 'Default' area), just like you would a blog post.

The template will do all the heavy lifting for the design so you can focus on your inventory. If you hit a snag with the shop setup or getting those widgets to display correctly, just reach out. We're happy to help!
