Solved Post Widget Limit to One Category

    Is it possible to include a list of posts in the widget sidebar but limited to just one category.
    I have a news blog but want to post occasional quips to sit in the widget area not necessarily in the main body.

    I think you should be able to do this with the built-in WordPress "Latest Posts" widget. In WP Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets, add or click on the latest posts widget. Then in the right sidebar settings under the "Block" tab, look for the "Sorting and Filtering" settings group which contains a "Categories" setting. According to the widget docs:

    "In the Categories box, you can choose to show only posts with a specific category."

    So just entering your one category in that field should, I think, give you a Latest Posts widget that shows a list of posts from that one category only.
