Divi Accordions Strange Behavior

    I have a page on my site that has about 9 accordions on it. Works great in desktop, but mobile, it seems to not want to open up the accordions.

    I had flushed the divi builder cache and then 'fixed' all the accordions - that seemed to do the trick for mobile. But then the next time the page was edited/updated, the same problem reared it's head and you can see the results in the url above.

    I'm not sure if this is a memory issue or something else - i realize it's not the ideal page design with that many accordions on it....

    Thanks to anyone who might have some ideas...

    Hey Jeff,

    It looks to me like the accordion items are configured to have no content on mobile - and so there's nothing for the accordion to open.

    Look in your individual accordion items and check if the responsive settings icon is highlighted blue as shown:

    If so, and if the content is empty when you click the mobile tab, that is probably the problem.

    To fix it, click the blue mobile icon to disable responsive values for the Body content. Then the accordion should show the same (non-empty) content on all device widths and that should let the accordions work as expected on mobile.

    Hi Dan,

    Thanks for this info. I think what is happening is the content in the mobile tab seems to be disappearing. I have gone thru the page before and re-added the mobile copy (just cut and paste the desktop copy). I did not put any content in the Tablet tab (not sure if it's required I enter tablet copy). But somehow, the page loses the mobile copy at some point (perhaps when the client comes in and makes a new edit to the page).

    So for example, I just updated the first accordion and resaved. You can see - https://eclearn.org/early-childhood-education/ that now the July 30th entry expands correctly again.

    My first thought was it's some kind of memory issue within the Divi Builder, but maybe you have another idea of what to try?

    You're welcome, Jeff. Yeah, I can see the July 30th entry working on mobile now.

    I'm not sure what would be causing the mobile content to be lost... It doesn't look like you're using global modules or presets, etc, that might have explained it. I wouldn't have thought your client just editing the page would have caused it either - they'd have had to intentionally (or at least accidently) removed the mobile content. If it keeps happening, it would seem to me to be some sort of a bug (or something else I haven't thought of).

    That said, do you ever need the mobile content to be different from desktop? If not, then you shouldn't really need to enter any mobile content at all. Instead if you disable the responsive options (by clicking on that blue icon I screenshotted earlier such that the blue highlight is removed and the icon gets the same coloring as the other icons beside it), then Divi should just use the Desktop content on mobile and tablet too. The mobile setting is only necessary if you want to show different content on mobile.
