Solved Is an empty child theme needed on top of Divi Ultimate?

    Divi Ultimate Child Theme

    Perhaps the most basic question of all times. Up to this point, I have been working with Divi + a child theme generated via a child theme generator (an empty child theme to hold all my customizations). I now want to use Divi Ultimate child theme and I am wondering: do we need a generated child theme, on top of Divi Ultimate? I think not since Divi Ultimate is a premium child theme, but I want to be 100% certain. If there are major updates fo Divi Ultimate, will this change my customizations?

    Basically, our child theme is separated into 2 parts:
    1. Divi-Ultimate.zip (child theme)
    2. Divi-Ultimate-Plugin.zip (assistant plugin)

    To ease the process of updating, all the updates will be included in the assistant plugin. So whenever there's update, it won't affect your customization in the child theme.

    ============

    Divi-Ultimate.zip (child theme) is now practically an empty child theme, because all the custom PHP, CSS & JS are included in the assistant plugin. So feel free to customize the child theme without worrying that updates will wipe out your customization.
    **Do note that you shouldn't make any customization on Divi-Ultimate-Plugin.zip (assistant plugin).

    In short, Divi-Ultimate.zip (child theme) is similar to what you got from child theme generator. The only difference is that our child theme zip does include some images that will be used in some part of our premade designs.
