Anchor tag link not working with fixed header

Has anyone found a workaround for this issue:
I have a fixed header. I have two Ninja tables on a page. I have a link in table #1 to a spot in table #2. But when you click the link to the anchor, it scrolls about 4 rows below the intended target. I've tried many workarounds found around the web but none have have worked. Elegant Themes support says it's a known issue but there is no known workaround. Surely there must be a way to offset by the height of the header when you click an anchor link to a spot on the same page?
