Audio played from within Text module

I want to set up text like this:

'If you want to hear the audio, please click here.'

I would like the audio to play when the user clicks on the word 'here' or, even better, replace the word 'here with a simple 'play' button. As the audio is very short - just a few seconds - I don't really want to have to launch a visible player if I can avoid it.

Please can anyone suggest the best way to acheive this?
