I am updating background images for multiple pages. When I select a new image, the height of the image displays at half the height as it used to.

I am editing through Pages, then selecting a page to edit, then double clicking to open Selection Module Settings and changing the background. In both the preview and on the actual page (if I "update" the page), the new background image becomes half the height as old background image. See attached screenshots.

Is it because of different image size? Kindly share your URL.

Hello. I do not believe so, because when I change the old image to a new one, the height is reduced; and if I then change the new image back to the original image (which was the proper size before), it too remains shorter in height. It seems that the act of changing the image at all locks any future image into the shorter height.

On this page, I did what I described above and now the original image is shorter than it used to be (compare to screenshot in initial post).

To increase the height, just simply go to the section settings & set a bigger padding top and bottom.

Thank you. I'm wondering why this needs to be set for each individual page when in the past the theme automatically set the background image at a larger height than it does now. Is this an update to the theme itself that is being applied going forward?

Not sure about that though. If you want, you can ask the official Divi support about it: https://elegantthemes.com/members-area/help/
