Divi 5 Global Header Won't Connect to Site

Divi technical support has been unable to resolve this problem, maybe someone here has run into it before and fixed it? Here's the situation. I downloaded a header/footer free from Divi Blog, created a menu in wordpress with 6 items, then installed the header/footer and started creating pages in Divi 5 page builder. At first it appeared that header was fine, but then I noticed that the header only showed the generic menu choices that came with the download - it's not showing my 6 menu choices from my wordpress menu.

I went to look at the global header in Divi ThemeBuilder and here the menu is correct - showing all 6 choices. So my website is not connected to the global header, it is only connected to the generic installation header I downloaded. I hope my explanation is clear. See photos for the two versions

With divi support I went through a mountain of cache clearings, checking the "eye" in themebuilder, turning plugins on and off etc and nothing has made a difference. I fear this is something simple and stupid but no one seems to know what it might be. Any ideas?

First, make sure you have Primary Menu set at: WP Admin > Appearance > Menus

Next, go to edit the header in WP Admin > Divi > Theme Builder > Global Header

Go to the menu module settings & choose your primary menu & save & see if it works.

If still not working, kindly share which free header layout that you downloaded for us to try it as well.
