Divi and the Events Calendar on recurring events

I have a Wordpress site where I am using the Divi Builder, with the the Events Calendar Pro.
So far this combination is almost working well, bypasses most of the issues encountered with the Events Calendar, except for recurring events when adding new layouts with Divi builder.

With Divi Builder I've assigned a specific body layout to specific events (tried by category, but since some categories are both in Events and in Products, it gets mixed up). This works very well as long as the event is single or single within series.

The problem is with recurring events that are not different from one another except for the date. In that case I've to select each of the single events, and save. Time consuming but it still works until I've to add some layout for a different kind of page or add a specific event to a layout!!! The layouts related to recurring events become unassigned! I can then click again on all the recurring events to assign them to the chose layout.

Any idea how to solve this?
