What divi build environment do you use to create WordPress plugins for the Divi visual Builder (aka Divi modules / Divi extension)?

The Divi tutorials https://www.elegantthemes.com/documenta ... extension/ and https://www.elegantthemes.com/documenta ... er-module/ instruct developers to use https://www.npmjs.com/package/create-divi-extension but it hasn't been updated for several years - outdated Node, Webpack and Babel versions for example - and doesn't work in some cases.

Do you use create-divi-extension-1.0.2-alpha.0 for your Divi modules development or a different tool?

Are there any IDEs that you use instead?

Is create-divi-extension-1.0.2-alpha.0 really the state of the art w.r.t. Divi development support?

ps. It seems like it should have been obvious now, but it wasn't clear to me that javascript code that belongs to the frontend has to go in the scripts folder and isn't part of the includes (aka source) directories; this seemed counterintuitive since source code usually sticks together.
