Solved Divi Gallery - permanently display overlay and icon

I currently have the gallery module set up so only one picture shows. On hover, there is an overlay with double arrow indicating "open". The link opens in a lightbox gallery that the visitor can cycle through.
My client would like the icon to be permanently shown, so that the visitor knows that they have to click on the picture to open a lightbox gallery. Any idea if this could be achieved with the gallery module?

I tried this code, and a few other iterations, but nothing worked.

Instead I have added a button module and used the tutorial from PeeAye Creative

to pop up the gallery lightbox. In addition, I added an anchor link to button and row, so that when the lightbox gallery opens, the page doesn't scroll to top.

It would be be cool to have the overlay + icon show at all times, and not just on hover, but I am slowly wondering if this is even possible, programmatically.
