Solved Header Layout not Working in Wordpress.com Hosted Site

I developed a site on my main server... self-hosted... and all went well. I then transferred the same site to a wordpress.com hosted account... which is working fine... everything went well... posts in... pages in... theme is in... plugins are in... even footer went in the exact same way... but the header did not.

I have a lot of experience with Divi and Divi UItimate.

I picked header 8... I tried setting it in the theme customizer settings (I did upload the divi library and imported the customizer settings as usual). I even tried forcing the header by customizing it in the page itself in the header settings.

The header that comes up... and only when I select "none" in the customizer is the default Divi header. When I select anything else... ie. Divi Ultimate headers that come in the library XML files... like Header #8... no header shows up... and when I checked the code... a display: none for the header is in the CSS... which shouldn't be there... I didn't put it in there and I can't find it though... and even if I force via CSS to show the header... it still just shows the default header.

And one other nuance... this appears to just happen on the desktop... the mobile version works just fine. I don't want to put the link to the site in the thread... I can email it... although you may know of the fix without looking at it. And the wordpress.com account for this site does have the level of account where we can upload themes and plugins.

    and just to clarify...
I am using the Divi Ultimate theme... for this.

When I say transfer... I mean that I exported the XML file from original site... and imported it into the .com hosted site... uploaded the Divi theme and uploaded the Divi UItimate plugin and child theme... nothing out of the ordinary. And like I mentioned earlier... everything works... including the footer (using footer 11)... just the header isn't working... as described above.

I did go into Divi's theme settings and in performance - disabled Dynamic CSS and Defer jQuery settings as I know sometimes they can cause issues. I do have Output Styles inline enabled and I cleared the Static CSS file Generation as well.

I checked all of the "usual suspects" for this.

Thanks for the response but I was able to force the header in by using the Divi theme builder. Still strange that it happened… any ideas?

Will need to view the site to troubleshoot further.

But if you're using Theme Builder, then you should use our Divi Block: https://divi.help/categories/divi-block-pro-version.171/
**All the designs in Divi Ultimate Header are also available in Divi Block. And best thing is Divi Block doesn't rely on plugins. We would recommend to use Divi Block for custom header in Theme Builder.

I hear ya.,. but what does the Divi Block have to do with my issue? I shouldn't need the Divi block. Divi Ultimate as you know comes with the header feature... where you pick the header... set it up in the Customizer and it just works. For some reason... as I described above... for this particular situation and site/hosting situation... there is a glitch. I know how to use your products and Divi Ultimate. I only used the Divi Theme builder in this situation because of the "glitch." Not sure how what I did is different than using the Divi Block. All I needed to do was to "force" your theme to use the header #8... which it would on my self hosted server but didn't for some reason... on the very same site... when transferred over to wordpress.com hosting.

I fixed the site and just moving on... just giving you a heads up as this is a glitch. I code myself... develop myself... etc. and I love your products... this is just one of those strange and rare glitches.

As mentioned previously, without viewing your affected site, we couldn't comment much on the glitch.

    ==========

Divi Block is just a recommendation from us to build custom header in Divi Theme Builder. It's already included in our Pro membership that you subscribed. Basically, you just need to use our online tool to mix & match your desired header design & export it as json file, which can then be imported in your Divi Theme Builder & done. If you haven't checked it out before, we would recommend you to take a look at it: https://divi.help/categories/divi-block-pro-version.171/

I have used your block and AI block before... it works fine. The point is I shouldn't have to with Divi Ultimate... there is a glitch... and now you know it. I have the desired header - it's header #8. Works just fine. I used the Theme Builder forced it in as a work around to the above glitch. Essentially... Divi block creates a divi block... which I can then use with the Divi Theme Builder... which is essentially what the header #8 is... so I am confused on your response. Header #8 from Divi Ultimate is a Divi block in the library... from your product suite... so not much different than your Divi Block tool... and you implement both "blocks" in the same way in terms of using them with the Divi Theme Builder... which is how I "fixed" the glitch.

No worries. And for anyone reading this thread... it's rare that you get a glitch with products from this site... and as you can see... there are several easy workarounds... and the glitch was caused by an unusual set of circumstances that you probably won't encounter. The products on this site are absolutely outstanding... I highly recommend all of them.
