help responsive/sticky menu header similar to linked

    Looking to recreate this effect where menu is transposed on top of logo. Currently set up my global header to have a section with auto scaling image at 100% width. Another section below divided into 4 columns containing the actual menu items. Have already tried transforming the section up pixels, but of course when the browser is scaled, they collide into the actual logo/image.

    Is there a way to change the bounding boxes of the image so that overhang on letters like g, q, and y, can be ignored? Or scale both sections to the same degree? change the z index of the menu, and give it ample margin? but then how would the margin scale to the same degree as the image.

    am I approaching this the wrong way?

    btw I don't need to keep the menu sticky after scrolling, as I've already sorted that part out.
