Importing Divi Page Layout From Another Website

I'm trying to import a page from one Divi website to another and I'm getting an error message saying it can't be imported in the format I have. I had no problem exporting the page from my old URL to the new URL.

I searched this forum and found a recommendation to import through the Divi Theme Builder.

When I try that and click the import tab, I don't know which import options to choose so I don't mess up other pages that are already published on my new website.

What options should I check off if I just want to upload a page from my old website to a new page on my new URL?

My tech skills are limited and I'm afraid of messing up my other pages and posts.

    I appreciate your help.

There are several places to export & import layouts.

Basically, the place where you exported the layouts in your old site, you need to import it at the same place in your new site.

What do you mean by I "need to import it at the same place in my new site"? Can't I simply import the page layout and contents to a new page that I create on my new site? That's what I've breen trying to do and it isn't working.

Let's say you're editing the page in Visual Builder. Click on the below icon to export it:

    upload_2019-11-10_22-4-40.png

Then it will export the page layout as .json file.

Next is to proceed with your new site > create a new page > click the same icon again > click import & upload the .json file & done.

I tried what you suggested several times and get a pop up error message saying, "This file should not be imported in this context."

When I tried uploading the .json file through Divi Theme Builder the attached box pops up and I don't know which options to choose to ensure I don't mess up the pages already published on my site, including a membership area.

If you’re just exporting a Divi page, then it has nothing to do with Divi Theme Builder. Divi theme Builder is for setting a template for all your site pages / certain pages: https://www.elegantthemes.com/documentation/divi/the-divi-theme-builder/

For exporting a single page design, if the previous method doesn’t work for you, you may try to save the page layout into Divi Library: https://www.elegantthemes.com/documentation/divi/loading/

Then proceed to import / export it in Divi Library: https://www.elegantthemes.com/documentation/divi/library-import/

I really appreciate you trying to help me. I've tried exporting and importing from the backend page, visual builder and Divi Library and I keep getting the same message every time I try to import into my new website. "This file should not be imported in this context." I even tried shortening the name of the .json file in case this was causing the problem.

I have NO idea why this isn't working for me. I'm following every step in the videos exactly as presented.

If that's the case, it's best for you to contact official Divi support about it: https://www.elegantthemes.com/members-area/help/
