make bar behind mobile menu icon smaller

    the bar behind my mobile menu icon is huge and it seems to be standard for every website i create. how can i make it skinnier? less padding on the top and bottom. i tried doing a negative number for the margin on the menu module but for some reason that only works on the top, not the bottom.
