Recaptcha Issue

The site had no errors or anything when you right click on Chrome and Inspect before I did the stuff below.

Then I put on the home page the Divi Optin Module. I put in the right Google Recaptcha V3 keys for that module.

Then I pulled up the home page, right clicked it and inspect and got this error: recaptcha__en.js:497 Invalid action name, may only include "A-Za-z/_". Do not include user-specific information.

I have the IP address selection off (and tried it with on too).

I removed the optin module... cleared cache (Browser and site) and had same issues.

I disabled all my plugins and tried it... same issue.

Curiously enough, on other pages (ie. the blog page) - don't get this issue... it only happens on the home page. BUT, when I make another page the home page... the issue comes back.

When I looked at the Source code for my site (ie. right click and select view source) it looks like my site key is coded into the home page now... by the looks of it - by DIVI and they put in the recaptcha JS file too. Even though I already removed the optin module AND deleted the "Google recaptcha account" in the optin module.

I search around the internet to try to solve this and couldn't find any solution.

Here is the site name: https://gameworxstudios.com/

Any ideas what is causing this quirky issue?

I just tried it after putting Divi in "safe mode" and the issue remains.

    I just tried this...
    1. Check out this page: https://gameworxstudios.com/test/ - right click and inspect in Chrome - no Errors.
    2. I then make that "Test" page the home page - Settings - Readering Settings - Homepage and it has those errors above. Same exact page... only difference is no errors when not made the home page... but that Recaptcha error when it's made the home page.

I have built a ton of WP sites and have never seen that before... but then again, I never used the DIVI Optin Module with Recaptcha either. This is a very strange error.

And when I make the home page you see now... not the home page (say, when I make the Test page that I mentioned above the home page) and view it as a "regular page" (ie. when what normally would be the homepage is not set as the home page)... no errors on it. It's like Wordpress or Divi is just dinging the home page itself - regardless of what actual page I use as the home page.

Update - I went into the database... and manually removed the API Keys for Optin Google Recaptcha account and it no longer gives that error. But I wonder why it did that... and does that mean I can't use the Google Recaptcha with the Divi Optin Module? I removed it in the options table with the option name: et_core_api_spam_options

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I came to that conclusion also but I looked all over and didn't find any viable answers to it. I wonder if it's related to the new version of Divi and no one has encountered it yet or posted the issue anywhere which is why a solution can't be found.

And after manually taking that item out of the database that I mentioned above... now my site is kind of broke (the backend... the frontend seems fine)... it could be a coincidence as what i took out shouldn't cause the issues that I'm now having but thankfully, it's a new site and I didn't get far on it... but when I click the plugins folder from the dashboard - it goes to 404 and a few other strange issues as well - like the login page going to 404 unless I disable the plugins but when I disable each plugin trying to ID the culprit - it doesn't help.

And I did the normal process of "checks" like clearing cache, going back to a base .htaccess file, disabling plugins, etc. etc. Then I did an install on a subdomain thinking maybe it's a server issue but it's not... the subdomain WP install worked fine.

I rarely fail in sorting out a WP site or fixing a broken one... but I'm stumped here... I'm just going to redo the site... not a big deal... it's not an active business yet anyways and may take me an hour to bring it back to how it is now... since it was mostly a new site.

I don't think it's related to your Ultimate Theme... my guess is that it's a DIVI issue... and related to the big update they did going to DIVI 4. The original issue didn't occur until I put in the optin module and tried to put in the Google Recaptcha... and then I guess in me sorting that out... I broke something elsewhere.

The same issue occurs when I have the main DIVI template active (ie. when not using the child theme). I just thought I asked and was hoping maybe you have encountered it before. I'm a coder myself and have 100+ wordpress sites developed over the years... and have never seen this before.

One thing you can try is: Go to Module Settings & remove the reCaptcha account. See screenshot below:
