Solved Static Home Page or Edit Divi-created home?

I know there's going to be an obvious solution to this, but I've stressed myself out to the point where I have no idea if I'm coming or going. And I *know* it shouldn't be this hard!

Basically, I want to have a static homepage for my website and edit it with Divi. But my two issues seems to be:

    1. If I use the "Home" link set up by Divi, I can't seem to use the builder to edit it (I'm assuming because I can only use it to edit pages & posts)

    2. I tried to create a page called "HOME" which is fine and editable with Divi, but for some reason I can't change the link of it to just the www.homepage.com...which means it's not navigable to by users as a home page (it has a link of www.homepage/page137, for example).

All I want is to have a static homepage that I can edit with Divi. Please help me! Thank you <3

**to clarify, I have set the static homepage option to the page titled "HOME"**

***EDIT: WELL, FFS. I just did it again, screamed very loudly, and it worked.***

You just need to go to WP Admin > Settings > Reading > Your homepage displays > A static page (select below) > Homepage & select your desired page as homepage.

You have to set it in the Theme Customizer AND in the "Reading" section of the "Settings" tab on your dashboard :) At least, that's what worked for me!

I had the same issue. Divi.Help actually answered it above but in a generally vague way. Here's here's what I did:
    Dashboard
    - Appearance
    - Customize
    - Homepage Settings
Under YOUR HOMEPAGE DISPLAYS, there are 2 options. By default, it's set to latest posts (so if you don't have any posts, it'll just show a blank page that isn't even in your list of pages).
Click the A static page button and you'll see a drop-down menu where you can choose which page you want to be your default Home page.
You should see the changes happen there. Click Publish and then confirm that your default Home page is what you want it to be.

Let me know if this helps because I'm still learning all this stuff myself!

THANK YOU PelletSmokerGrill! That helped so much and so sad that the actual Divi.Help didn't "help" me either! What does the "POSTS PAGE" do at the bottom? I feel like this is something that will help one of my problems I'm having but can't verbalize it since I am so new. I got 99 problems, and DIVI is all of them right now! Hahaha! Easy for beginning---not in the slightest.

Glad I could help. I know all too well how frustrating web design programs can be. Allow me to share a tutorial video that REALLY helped me a lot. It's a little long, but if you work through the steps as the presenter does, I think some *lights* come on for you as they did for me:

My bad for not making a clear guide. Just edited my previous post.

As for the Posts Page, basically if you create a page & select it as Posts Page, then that page will be auto-populated with the latest blog posts. It uses the default PHP file to generate it & so you won't be able to edit it in Divi Builder. If you use Divi Builder to edit the Posts Page, nothing will happen, as it will just stick to the default PHP file styling. But if you wish to design yourself using Divi Builder, then you will need to leave the Posts Page settings empty. But do note that the design will not apply to the category page, author page, etc.

It seems like you purchased our Divi Powerful Child Theme. For Divi Powerful, you will get to style the archive / category / author / tag / search page (including Posts Page) in Theme Customizer > Divi Powerful Settings > Archive / Category Page Header and Archive / Category Page Blog List. You get to choose your desired style for the blog list in the Posts Page & ability to add a dynamic header above the blog list.
**For Divi Powerful, make sure you create a page & choose it as Posts Page, in order for the Theme Customizer settings to work.

I can not change my post page to static. I created a home page went to customize and there is not home page link there to change to home. I went to settings and reading and there is nothing there to change either? I have no idea whats going on. So frustrating

You need to create your first published page before the option will show up.

I just published 2 posts. My homepage is a blog and it shows the 2 posts (summaries). I also managed to get categories up on the menu and each category page shows a post. So far so good!

I am now thinking of adding an image and an a short blog description onto my homepage. Can anyone tell me how do I do this?

    Thanks, Divi Newbie

I would suggest you to create a new page for your homepage using Divi Builder with blog module.

That way, you can add anything you want in your homepage.

Next is to select your newly created page as your homepage in WP Admin > Settings > Reading:

I made some kind of error when creating my site with a Divi preset author theme. I ended up deleting the original homepage and adding a page and creating my own. When I viewed my site, I then had two pages called Home, but only one showed up on my list of pages at the back end. The first Home page is empty except for the statement, "Write or delete your first post." I changed my new home page to static, which then duplicated it, and the blank page titled "Home" is now the same as my page titled "Home." Only one shows at the back end. At the top of the site, I now see the pages in this order: Home, About, Blog, Home, Uncategorized. The uncategorized page also does not appear on the page list in the back end. I want the order of my pages to be: Home, About, Blog. Please help me sort this out.
