    It's because you added desktop-menu-item CSS Class for the menu item. That CSS Class will hide the menu item in desktop.

    Right, okay - thanks! Also - can you see why the on hover effect isn't working for the top level menu items, as per the header #6 example? Thanks again!

    You need to select your hover style in Theme Customizer > Divi Ultimate Header Plugin > Header & Navigation Styling > Choose Your Custom Menu Hover Style
