Text Paragraphs to Modules ?

I'm trying to understand the best workflow for creating fairly complex blog posts with multiple styles throughout the post including subheadings and different text styles.

I've set up different modules in the library and also set up the styles in the available styles drop down for text and headings modules.

My question is how do I break up the imported text into individual blocks in order to apply either the library preset or the text/heading preset?

Right now I'm stuck having to cut/paste each section of text into a new block... And it is a big PITA!

What I would love to do is enter the full text of the post into either gutenberg or divi editor and then be able to apply the presets to individual paragraphs. Or, alternately somehow break up the full text into individual blocks.

Hoping there's a way to do this.

Thanks in advance for letting me know!

    Hey Mika99,

There isn't really any way to do this in Divi itself.

I'm not sure if it will do exactly what you're after, but my Divi Copy & Paste plugin lets you paste in content (e.g. copied from a web page, chatGPT, Word doc, etc) and will automatically break it up into a section with individual text modules, splitting on headings (so each text module will contain both a heading and the text following that heading).

You could then set different presets on each text module as needed / move them to the appropriate place in your layout.

Otherwise, you'd probably need to look at some custom code that breaks up your content and inserts it into the WordPress database as a new post (in Divi's shortcode format). That would give you more flexibility - you could break the content up as you want and probably also specify the presets via the shortcode attributes, but it's a more involved solution.

    Hey Dan
This actually sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. But before I buy it just want to make sure I understand how it works so I'm sure it does what I want.
How does it break up the larger text block?
I write my posts in Obsidian. So I can export as markdown or text.
How do I format the post in order to have it break up the text into the sections I want? I'm unclear looking at the page how it works and if it will do what I want.
Thanks for letting me know !

    Hey Mika99,

You're welcome! I've just updated Divi Copy & Paste to support copying in markdown (from Obsidian or anywhere else). There's no particular formatting you need to do in Obsidian itself - just copy directly from an Obsidian note and Divi Copy & Paste will split it up into text modules (splitting on headings in the markdown: #, ##, etc). It'll also convert markdown formatting (bold, italics, lists, links, etc) into HTML so that they display correctly in the Divi page. This post describes the new feature and how it works:

I hope that helps, but please just give me a shout if there's anything that would further help streamline your workflow.

    Thanks!

    Wow. Game changer!
Just bought the plugin and used it for the first time. Amazing. This is going to make creating these posts SO much faster and easier.
Going to work with it a bit more and then, if you're open, share some thoughts.
    But, just wow.
    And thanks!

Thanks ,Mika99! I'm really glad you like it!

I originally wrote it to help with adding screenshots to my own posts and then later adding full posts in from other sources (as you're doing). It personally saves me a lot of time and I hope it does for you too!

Yes, please share any thoughts you have, either here or through my contact form:

You might want to check out the Divi Copy & Paste plugin it can automatically split your pasted content (like from Word, ChatGPT, or any web page) into individual text modules, separating them by headings. That way, you can quickly apply different presets or move modules around without having to manually cut and paste everything.
It’s not a built-in Divi feature, but this plugin makes the workflow much smoother for complex posts with multiple text styles and sections.
