Solved Unable to import xml file

    Hello,
    I am unable to import the XML file to my divi website. It is hosted on the same server as another website, but I've never faced this issue before. So far I have installed the child theme, added the wordpress importer, clicked import. I see the upload occurs (100% uploaded) then the website remains "waiting" eventually giving a 500 error.
    Current PHP settings:
    allow_url_fopen On
    display_errors Off
    error_reporting E_ALL
    file_uploads On
    include_path .:/opt/alt/php56/usr/share/pear:/opt/alt/php56/usr/share/php
    log_errors On
    mail.force_extra_parameters no value

    upload_max_filesize 128M

    1. Can you try import the xml in fresh wordpress site? With only default theme with no plugin.

    2. If no. 1 not working, try this php settings (took it from elegantthemes support):
    memory_limit = 500M
    max_execution_time 180
    upload_max_filesize 1024M
    post_max_size 1024M
    max_input_time 600
    max_input_vars 5000

    3. If still not working, can ask your host for the error log?

    Never faced this issue before, nor anyone reported it before. So, I’m not sure what the real cause would be. But based on google search, it mostly due to php settings.

    One more thing. Are you using WP multisite?

    You can just create a new sub domain & install fresh Wordpress in it & try to import the xml and see.

    Sorry, there has been an error.
    File is empty. Please upload something more substantial. This error could also be caused by uploads being disabled in your php.ini or by post_max_size being defined as smaller than upload_max_filesize in php.ini.

    ON a blank install, i get the following :

    The uploaded file was only partially uploaded.

    Kindly install Divi on the fresh install & try to import again n see.

    Need to activate Divi theme first before you import the xml

    Thanks for your support. It turned out the server had a limit on it, when I contact the host directly, they resolved. Thanks again!~
