Why is the theme cropping my 16:9 featured images?

This took me a while to sort out, but the theme itself isn't allowing me to use 16x9 images. Divi has 3 standard aspect ratios, As explained in this excellent resource/article on Elegant Themes' site (https://www.elegantthemes.com/blog/divi-resources/the-ultimate-guide-to-using-images-within-divi).

Those aspect ratios are:
16:9
4:3
3:4

I've decided 16:9 will be my standard aspect ratio and begun the work of changing all of my featured images to match that aspect ratio. However, the images weren't looking right to me in Divi Ultimate and, upon closer inspection, I learned that the 1920x1080 image I uploaded is now 1706x1065 for some reason.

Why 1.6018779343 x 1? That doesn't match or approximate any common aspect ratio I'm familiar with.

Is there a way to get the Divi Ultimate child theme to honor and use the Divi standard image aspect ratios? Or am I missing some other simple explanation.

Clarity, particularly around the handling of featured images' aspect ratios, would be much appreciated.
