I am needing to have a single element scroll ABOVE my fixed menu in my template. I have tried setting z-index for the element but have not had luck.

Any ideas on setting z-index for the fixed menu and the module to be above it? Simply setting a higher z-index didnt word, I assume because of inheritance or something.

I am not sure if I need to set positions as well relative or absolute.

    Any help appreciated.

In the image, I have a fixed header with a pull out main menu.(translucent at the top) On a specific page I have a menu module that scrolls and becomes sticky at the top of the page, but it is under the main menu and therefore cannot be clicked.

    I don't think that's possible.

This is because the header & the content area are two different container. It's either the header overlap the content area, or the content area overlap the header.

You can't have a single element in the content area to overlap the header.
